Connecting your accounts

Connect an app once and your chief of staff and team members can use it in chat and in routines. Everything lives under Integrations in the left menu.

What apps can I connect to Operly?

Open Integrations. Apps are grouped by category, and you can search or filter by category.

  • Money & Sales: Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, Gumroad
  • CRM & Outreach: HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Apollo.io, Instantly, Intercom, Messaging apps (Slack or Telegram)
  • Scheduling & Forms: Cal.com, Calendly, TidyCal, Typeform, Tally, Apple and CalDAV calendars
  • Email & Audience: Google Workspace, Other email accounts, Mailchimp, Kit (ConvertKit), beehiiv
  • Productivity: Notion, Airtable, ClickUp, Asana, Todoist, Trello, Monday.com, GitHub, Figma, R-Link Studio, Zapier
  • Sites: WordPress

Link (payments) is listed as Coming Soon and cannot be connected yet.

How do I connect an app that needs an API key?

Find the app on Integrations, press Connect, and paste the key (or token) it asks for. Each form links to the page in that app where you create the key. Press Connect again in the form and Operly validates the key before it counts as connected.

Once connected, the card shows Connected, with Update key and Disconnect options. Then just ask in chat, for example “what did I make on Stripe this month?”. Some cards also have Copy routine webhook URL, which you paste into that app’s webhook settings so its events can start a routine.

Which Stripe key should I use?

Use a restricted key, not a full-access one. In Stripe go to Developers, then API keys, create a restricted key that starts with rk_live_, and give it Read access to Account, Balance, Charges, Customers, Products, Prices, Subscriptions, Invoices, Payment Intents and Refunds.

A key starting with rk_test_ only shows test data. Never paste a full-access sk_ key. This connection only reads your Stripe data live. It is separate from taking payments through Stripe. If the card says Stripe access needs attention, fix the key’s permissions in Stripe and press Recheck.

How do I connect Google (Gmail, Calendar and Drive)?

Open Integrations, choose Google Workspace, and press Connect Google Account. Sign in on Google’s own page and approve the permissions it asks for. Approve all of them, or some features will not work.

The card shows what each account can use: Email (Gmail), Calendar, Drive and Sheets. To add another Google account, press Add Google Account. One account is marked Primary; use the star to set a different one. Disconnecting an account stops those features for that account.

How do I connect Outlook, Microsoft 365, Yahoo, iCloud or another mailbox?

Open Integrations and choose Other email accounts.

  • Outlook, Hotmail and Microsoft 365: press Connect Microsoft and sign in with Microsoft. There is no password to enter.
  • Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud and others: press Add Email Account, pick the provider, and enter an app password (the form explains how to create one). Presets also exist for Shaw / Rogers and Titan Mail, and there is a Custom IMAP Server option.

Press Test & Connect. The account is checked before it is saved. You can pick a Default Sending Account when you have more than one.

How do I connect an iCloud, Fastmail or Yahoo calendar?

Open Integrations and choose Apple and CalDAV calendars. Pick a Calendar Provider (iCloud, Fastmail, Yahoo Calendar, or a custom CalDAV server), enter your email and an app password, and press Test & Connect.

For iCloud, use your @icloud.com or @me.com address even if your Apple ID uses a different email, and create an App-Specific Password at appleid.apple.com under Sign-In and Security. Your regular Apple ID password will not work. Fastmail and Yahoo also need an app password rather than your normal one.

How do I choose which calendars Operly shows?

After you connect a Google or CalDAV calendar, open Integrations and use Calendar selection in the Advanced row at the bottom of the page. You can show or hide each calendar, and set a Default account for new events.

If a calendar is missing from your schedule, check here first: it may be hidden. If you see “No calendar accounts connected”, connect a Google or CalDAV account first.

How do I chat with Operly from Slack or Telegram?

Open Integrations, choose Messaging apps, and press Connect a Channel. Pick Slack or Telegram.

  • Telegram: press the button to open Telegram, which sends your code for you. If that fails, copy the code and send it to the bot as /start YOUR_CODE.
  • Slack: add the Operly app to your Slack workspace (skip this if it is already installed), then copy the command shown and paste it into a direct message with the app.

Codes expire after 15 minutes. These two channels are marked beta in the app, so you may hit occasional issues.

Can I use Zapier with Operly?

Yes. Open Integrations, choose Zapier, and follow Set Up Zapier. Step 1 creates an API token. Step 2 opens Zapier, where you paste the token and choose your trigger and action.

This is the way to link Operly to apps that are not on the Integrations list.

What are webhooks and API keys on the Integrations page?

Both sit in the Advanced row at the bottom of Integrations.

  • Webhooks: press Add Webhook, give it a name and an Endpoint URL, and choose which events to subscribe to, such as a task being created or completed. Optionally add a signing secret. Operly then sends those events to your URL.
  • API keys: press to create a key for the Operly REST API. Choose its permissions (Read data, Write data, AI Chat, Admin), an optional IP allowlist and an expiry. Copy the key when it is shown, because you cannot see it again. You can revoke a key at any time.
Can I connect my own tools with MCP?

Yes. On Integrations, under Custom MCP servers, press Add custom MCP. Paste a server URL, or a Claude JSON or Codex TOML configuration, then press Connect. Operly finds the server’s tools and shares them with your whole workspace.

Hosted servers work on an active Pro or Business plan. Command servers run on the workspace computer. You approve a tool the first time it is used. Only read tools you mark Trust this read tool can run without asking; other actions always ask. You can disable, edit, reconnect or remove a connection from its card.

How do I disconnect an app?

Open Integrations, find the app’s card and press Disconnect. Confirm the prompt. Your team members immediately lose access to that app’s data, and you can reconnect any time.

Disconnecting cuts the link only. For full removal, also delete the key or revoke Operly’s access inside the other app. Custom MCP connections have Remove connection, which deletes the saved credentials and tool permissions but leaves your data in the connected service.

My app will not connect, or says “Credentials stopped working”

If a card says Credentials stopped working, reconnect, the app no longer accepts the saved key. Press Connect and paste a freshly created key.

If the key is rejected the first time, check these:

  • Copy the whole key. Mailchimp keys must keep the ending such as -us6.
  • Use the right kind of key. Kit needs the API Secret. HubSpot needs a Private App access token. GoHighLevel needs both a Private Integration Token and your Location ID. Trello needs both a key and a token.
  • Give the key read access to what you want Operly to see. For Airtable, also grant access to your bases.
  • Notion: after connecting, share your pages or databases with the integration inside Notion, or nothing will show up.
  • WordPress needs your site address, your username, and an Application Password.
