Fixing common problems
Most problems come down to a paused plan, an expired connection or a blocked browser permission. Start with the item that matches what you see.

My password reset link says it is invalid or has expired
Open the page and you can ask for a new link right there. Type your email in Enter your email and press Send Reset Link, then use the link in the newest email.
If nothing arrives, check your spam or junk folder, then press Didn't receive it? Click to resend. Resending is limited: there is a short wait between requests, and after several tries in an hour you are asked to wait before trying again. You can also start over from the sign-in page with Forgot password?, or press Back to Sign In.
AI work has stopped and I see “AI is paused for now”
That message means your workspace has used up its included monthly usage. Your documents, tasks and everything you made are still there. Only AI work pauses.
Open Settings > Usage to see the options. Turn on extra usage (a card is needed), or raise your extra usage limit if it is already on. On Pro you can also Upgrade to Business for a larger allowance. Otherwise, AI work resumes when the usage resets, and the Usage page shows the date. If a payment for extra usage failed, AI stays paused until the balance is paid, and the Usage page shows the amount due.
The chat is not responding or keeps loading
Work through these in order:
- Check Settings > Usage. If usage is used up, AI work is paused (see the item above).
- Check your internet connection, then refresh the page.
- Try another browser, or a private window. Ad blockers and privacy extensions can block requests the app needs.
- If a billing problem has locked the workspace, you will see a payment screen instead of the chat. See “My payment failed. What do I do?” in Plans, billing and account.
If it still does not respond, email support@getoperly.ai with what you were doing and your browser.
My team member says it cannot use an app or feature
Most often the app is not connected, or its connection needs attention. Open Integrations and check the app’s card. It should say Connected. If it says Credentials stopped working, reconnect, or a Google account shows Expired, reconnect it.
Also check that the feature is on your plan. Premium voice calls and the larger premium usage are on Business only, and Pro shows an upgrade prompt for them. If everything looks right, start a new conversation and ask again.
My Google account says “Expired” or Gmail and Calendar stopped updating
Open Integrations > Google Workspace. If the account has an Expired badge, press the refresh icon (Refresh connection) next to it and sign in again. If that does not work, disconnect the account and press Connect Google Account again.
- Approve all the permissions Google asks for.
- Allow pop-ups for Operly, since the sign-in opens in a new window.
- If the card says Gmail is unavailable but Calendar and Drive still work, reconnect to retry Gmail.
- Changing your Google password or removing Operly in your Google account permissions can end the connection, so you reconnect.
My email account will not connect or shows an error
Open Integrations > Other email accounts and look at the account card for an error message.
- Outlook, Hotmail, Microsoft 365: these use Connect Microsoft. A password will not work. Press the button again to sign in again.
- Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud: use an app password, not your normal password. If you changed your password or turned off two-step verification, create a new app password and reconnect.
- For a custom server, check the IMAP and SMTP hosts and ports and the SSL/TLS setting.
Reconnect an account with the same form, then press Test & Reconnect.
My iCloud or other CalDAV calendar will not connect
Open Integrations > Apple and CalDAV calendars. For iCloud, enter your @icloud.com or @me.com address, even if your Apple ID uses another email, and use an App-Specific Password from appleid.apple.com (Sign-In and Security). Your normal Apple ID password will not work.
Fastmail and Yahoo also need an app password. If you made a new password, press Test & Connect again. If the account connects but events are missing, check Calendar selection in the Advanced row, since the calendar may be hidden.
My Slack or Telegram connection code expired
Setup codes last 15 minutes, and a new code replaces the old one. If you see That code expired or This code was replaced, close any other Operly tabs, then start again from Integrations > Messaging apps and use the new code.
If the Slack window does not open, allow pop-ups for Operly and try again. Slack and Telegram are marked beta, so some rough edges are expected.
Push notifications are not arriving
Open Settings > Notifications and look at the Push Notifications status.
- Push notifications are blocked: your browser is blocking them. Allow notifications for Operly in your browser’s site settings, then refresh.
- Not yet enabled: press Enable notifications.
- Not supported in this browser: try a different browser.
Also check that your device’s own notification or Do Not Disturb settings are not hiding them, and that the notification types you want are switched on in the same screen.
Voice chat cannot hear me
Your browser needs permission to use the microphone. Click the lock or site-info icon in the address bar, set Microphone to Allow for Operly, and refresh.
Then check that the right microphone is selected in your device’s sound settings, that it is not muted, and that no other app is holding it. If it still fails, try another browser. Voice chat works on both plans. Calls with your team members are Business only (see Voice).
An image or video did not generate, or it was blocked
First check Settings > Usage. Generating media uses your workspace’s usage, so it stops when usage runs out.
If you see a message that the content was blocked, the request was refused by a safety filter. Try rewording it: leave out real people’s names, brand names and anything explicit, and describe the look or style you want instead. A simpler request often works. Operly has no setting to turn the filters off.
For other errors, refresh and try again in a few minutes, and check your connection.
How do I contact support?
