Operly vs Claude: a general assistant or an AI team

Anthropic’s Claude is a general-purpose assistant. On September 16, 2026 it merged chat and Claude Cowork into one Claude that you can hand bigger tasks. Operly is an AI team for business owners. Here is how they compare, using Anthropic’s own pages.

How they differ

Three differences that matter

01

You run a team, not a chat.

OperlyYour chief of staff and each team member you create live in the sidebar, with what each one is doing right now: Working, Needs you, or new items waiting.

ClaudeClaude is one assistant. You hand it a task, or schedule one, and Anthropic says it keeps working after you close your laptop.

02

Work waits for you in one place.

OperlyReplies your team drafts land in the Approvals queue, where you read, edit and send them. Your team carries out the sends you ask for, so ask for drafts when you want to read first.

ClaudeBy default Claude asks before taking an action and before sending email, and you can let it keep working and check in when something needs a closer look.

03

Routines that start themselves.

OperlyWrite a routine in plain English and choose what starts it: a schedule, a new email or a calendar event. Operly shows a numbered plan you read before you confirm.

ClaudeClaude can schedule tasks you hand it. Anthropic’s pricing page lists “Hand off and schedule tasks” on Pro.

Usage

What happens when you reach your limit

Claude

Paid plans have a session limit that resets every five hours and a weekly limit. When you reach one you wait for the reset, upgrade, or turn on usage credits so work continues. Anthropic says it may adjust limits at its discretion.

Operly

Your whole team shares one allowance, shown as a single meter with its reset date. When it is used up, AI work pauses unless you turn on extra usage, which you cap in dollars yourself. Operly has limits too: the point is that you can see where you stand.

  • Routines you write in plain English that start from a schedule, a new email or a calendar event, with a plan you read before you confirm.
  • Usage you can see and control: one allowance for the whole team, one meter with its reset date, and extra usage only if you turn it on and set the cap.
  • Prices are public, with team seats included.
